Randy Ranck, recently elected FFA state president was also honored at the banquet. By SUSAN KAUFFMAN QUARRYVILLE - Solanco and Hans Herr FFA chap ters jointly honored Randy Ranck, the newly elected state FFA president, and Marcia Hess, the 1976-77 state FFA princess, during a surprise celebration held July 7 at the Solanco High School. Bruce Kreider, 1976-77 Solanco FFA president, welcomed over 100 guests and FFA members from the two chapters, and, as did 15 others, publicly congratulated Randy and Marcia for their selection to these high-ranking offices. The speakers - classmates, teachers, and community and church representatives - commended the two win ners, who are close neigh bors in the Solanco area, for their leadership qualities of dependibility, sense of responsibility, genuine friendliness'and their strong Christian character and faith. Both Marcia and Randy have been active m the support of the programs at the Mechanic Grove Mennonite Church. Hans Herr FFA chapter presented a necklace to Marcia, and Randy received a gift certificate from the four teachers of the Solanco Agriculture Department and a suitcase from the Solanco FFA chapter. Those persons who briefly addressed the members, parents, and friends of both the Solanco and Hans Herr chapters were Henry E. Givler, area vocational consultant; Ralph Layman, director of Lancaster County Vo-tech schools; Dr. John Taddie, principal of Solanco High School; James M.
