Placements of broiler chicks were 1,455,000. The placements were 13 per cent below the previous week, but one per cent above the corresponding week a year ago. Average placements during the past ten weeks were 19 per cent above a year earlier. In the 21 key poultry producing states, placements were 67,860,000. This figure is one per cent below the previous week, but 12 per cent more than the same week in 1975.
