In any spare timeshe .finds, Sandy enjoys doing both
crewel embroidery and regular embroidery. “I like to try
other crafts - different things.”' ,
She said,. “I enjoy sewing .and I .enjoy cooking. ”Iri
addition to her family, she cooks for Bob’s two brothers at
noon daily. *
A member of Farm Women 5, Sandy said, “I really
enjoy Farm Women. You should participate in something
which gives you the opportunity to talk with other
people.”
Sandy is a member of the Bible School Committee and
the newsletter committee at the Mt. Zion Road Church of
the Brethren.
The Lentz’s are - like many farming couples - active in
the organizations which serve them. Bob was a member of
the board of directors of the Holstein Association and is
currently serving as a director of DHIA and the Lebaqpn
County Conservation District. >
He-is also a member of the-Pennsylvania Farmers
Association and Sandy served on the women’s committee.
Membership in these kinds of organizations has given
them a chance to travel and meet others who share their
experiences. They just returned from representing
Lehigh Valley Cooperative. at Pennmarva’s Young
Cooperator .meeting at the Hunt Valley Inn and next week
they will travel to Philadelphia for two days to attend the
National Holstein Convention. Bob is active in the Nor
thern Lebanon Young Fanners organization.

Sandy said it works out nicely with the three brothers
being able to -‘change off. It’s nice if you can get away
sometimes. It does everybody good.”
The family enjoys snowmobiling in northern Penn
sylvania in winter and square dancing. She said they once
belonged to the Senior Extension group in the county and
danced in competition at the Farm Show.
Sandy and Bob are active young farm people - the kinds
whose participation helps get the work of the various farm
organizations accomplished.
