S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced. Officials 'of USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) said hog cholera sur veillance'will continue in the former outbreak areas of New England and N.J. The last remaining quarantines in R. 1., N. J., and Mass, were lifted in April and May. A highly infectious viral disease of swine, hog cholera was diagnosed in late February and early March in N.J., R. 1., and Mass. The disease was found April 28 in New Hampshire. Hog cholera cannot be contracted by other animals or humans. Wool pull scheduled FLEMINGTON, N.J. - New Jersey wool producers will hold their annual wool pool on the weekend of June 25th, including that very afternoon and continuing through Sunday. The pool will dose each day at 6 p.m. and open at 8 a.m, except for on' the first day (Friday) when it opens at 1 p.m. The pool is organized by the New Jersey Sheep and Cooperative Association and wool producers from the Hog cholera quarantines lifted William W. Seminar participants need not be experts, but 'they should have sewn a few garments. The seminar will focus on speed sewing and includes pattern fitting and ad justment, plus how to copy a design. It was necessary for them to destroy 51 herd, totalling abut 20,000 swine, as the best means of preventing the disease from spreading.
