Delaware. His speech, “The
Supernatural - A World of
Mystery,” told of unusual
happenings which’cannot be
explained by knoweldge “of
this world.”
Betsy Cook, 15, in her H. v
prize-winning speech “Stop, The top winner in the boys
Look, and Listen,” told the division, Dean Campbell, 15,
audience ' that com- is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Participants in the contest
were the top boy and top girl
winners from contests held
in each of the counties. They
included Dale Lomas,
Qaymont; Janet Cannon,
Bridgeville; William
French, Marydel,
Maryland; and Faithette
Foreman, Dover.
State winners in the
contest receive $5O U.S.
Savings Bonds, provided by
Union Oil Company of
California in Palatine,
Illinois. They are also each
eligible for one of eighteen
trips to National 4-H
Congress and one of six $BOO
educational scholarships on
a competitive besis with
other state winners in public
speaking.
The contest was judged by
Jerry Webb, agricultural
editor at the University of
Delaware.
