Tour hostesses honored at Ladies ’program By MELISSA PIPER STRASBURG —Following a tour of Lancaster County farm homes, almost 500 Lancaster farm women met at Historic Strasburg here on Wednesday for their annual PFA Ladies’ Day Out program. Six women were recognized for having opened their homes for the tour and Mrs. J. Richard Garber presented gifts to Mrs. Roy Rohrer, Mrs. Harold Rohrer, Mrs. Nor man Kolb,' Mrs. John Kreider, Mrs. Henry Barley and Mrs. Melvin Shertzer. A talent competition for youth was held in con junction with the Day Out program with a winner selected to‘represent the county at' the regional program slated for later in the summer. Lou Ann Brenneman along with Larry and Terry Frey won the talent contest, by doing a skit telling the story of PFA. Miss Brenneman, the 15-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Bren neman, Mt. Joy, portrayed a over-zealous farm wife with Terry Frey as the reluctant farmer. Sound effects were provided by Larry Frey. Talks were given by Theresa Heinz, wife of senatorial candidate, John Heinz and Earl Newcomer, president of the Lancaster County Farmers’ Association. Entertainment for the day was provided by Mrs. Noah Kreider, Jr., at the organ and by Michael Martin who presented several vocal selections.
