grim frequency to workers who resist

“But in this case, Kirkland was able
to file suit against the lUOEand Local
675 because he had the help of the
National Right to Work Legal Defense
Foundation (NRTWLDF). When the
depositions began piling up, the AFL
CIO union settled out of court for
$165,000. Kirkland’s employer
received $40,000 for damage to his
equipment, and the deputy sheriff
$30,000 for his injuries.
"The suit and the settlement are of
significance because, like another

Democratic Party stalwart and for

Democratic Action in a case so
flimsy that only a legally-confused

This sort of action is not unusual,
and while that in itself is shameful, it
becomes even more upsetting when
politics and words like “democratic”
become tied to it. That’s some
democratic way!
Furthermore, if the AFL-CIO and its
satellite affiliations had any decency
within their top levels of leadership,
they wouldn't condone such violence.
They should be out punishing their
misguided members and see to it that
such incidents never happen again.
But they won’t, and that is just one
reason why farmers should oppose
union control of their business and
work with utmost vigor.
