FOOD AT SALE Pa. grocery prices surveyed HARRISBURG - Com pleting a six-month super market survey report, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture recently disclosed that retail prices for IS “shopping bag” items from August, 1975 to January, 1976 rose an average of 17 cents from $9.23 to $9.40. The study, prepared by the department’s Bureau of Rural Affairs, showed the average state shopping bag cost dipped to a low of $9.13 in September and then rose slowly through December to $9.21. A sharp increase during the last month of the study brought the price to $9.40. Overall, the six-month state shopping bag average was $9.22.
