7ft—Lancaster Farming. Saturday, March 6. 1976 1975 farm exports push U.S. trade to record surplus Farm exports were mainly responsible (or a new record over-all U.S. trade surplus during calendar 1975. It all came about despite a slight dip in farm exports for the year. Here's how it worked out; Though farm exports dipped from $22 billion in 1974 to $21.9 billion in 1975, farm imports dipped even more from $10.25 billion in 1974 to $9.3 billion. This pushed the agricultural trade surplus to a record $12.6 billion, up from a previous high of $11.7 billion in 1974. The agricultural trade surplus more than offset an non-ag trade deficit to give the U.S. a trade surplus of $10.3 billion for the year, topping a previous high (of $10,275 billion) set more than 30 years earlier (in 1944). The slight dip in agricultural exports came NEPPCO plans convention Three program com mittees for the Northeastern Poultry Convention will meet in the Springfield, Massachusetts, Marriott Hotel, March 22, to plan the program for the Convention to be held in Springfield’s Civic Center, August 24-26.
