Last year, NAMA-prepared promotional
materials, including 130,000 brochures, 8,500
school lesson plans and 60,000 coloring books,
were distributed in 38 states. Features about Ag
Day were carried by major newspapers, wire
services, radio and television stations Thousands
of school children, city residents and consumer
groups visited farms or participated m special Ag
Day programs.
Ag Day 1975, proved there’s a tremendous in
terest in American agriculture, and an even greater
eagerness on the part of ag interests to get the
facts out - straight.
But lots of willing participants don't have the
resources to generate communications materials
and programs suitable for telling such a complex
story effectivefy. (Which helps explain why NAMA
received requests for Ag Day materials from 38
states last year.)
The need for continuing, clear-cut com
munications between urban and rural Americans
won’t diminish.
