In the corn silage contest, Bill Fisher took first place with a harvest of 14,950 pounds of TON per acre. Second was Eugene Eberly, New Holland Rl with 14,206 pounds; and third Earl Weaver, New Holland Rl with 13,770 pounds. The dairy achievement award was presented to Andrew Stoltzfus. In the new varieties com contest, Earl Weaver and Bill Fisher placed first and second, respectively. Last year's outstanding young farmer Nathan Stoltzfus who went on to win the Pennsylvania Young Fanner Region II title last year, was recognized again to receive a belated trophy and receive notice that his name will be engraved on the Carl M. Sauder Memorial Plaque which is per manently displayed in the Garden Spot High School ag classroom. Weaver’s name will also be engraved on that plaque.
