A public sale of real estate and farming implements were sold Feb. 27 for the J. A. Hanks, Estate and held south of Buck. The 67 acre farm was sold to Amos Hess, Rl, Holtwood for $lBB,OOO. Antiques included wooden shaking fork $39 and hand-powered washing machine $lOO. An old Volkswagen was sold for $485. Auctioneers were Robert E. Martin and Frank L. Steller. A public sale of Dairy Cows and Farm Machinery was held Feb. 28 by Melvin R. Stoltzfus of Quarryville. The cow prices ranged from $6OO to $1460. A public sale of Farm Equipment, Woodland and Antiques was sold Feb. 28 by Ammon S. Nolt near Churchtown, Pa. The 6 acres of woodland sold for $7900. There was a large attendance.
