Dr. A. G. Meiering, Engineering Professor, University of
Guelph, Ontario, Canada, will be the featured speaker on; “The
Truth About Sealed Silos: Concrete vs Steel.” Meiering’s
documented research report will center on Oxygen Controlled
Silos and deals with changes in total pressure in the silo as
directly proportional to temperature changes outside the silo.
His paper also compared concrete and steel silos.

Samuel Hay, Jr., a dairyman turned beef producer from
Covington Georgia, will discuss his experiences in recycling
animal waste utilizing 40 percent manure, 45 percent cracked
shelled corn and 15 percent silage or hay. This mixture is ensiled
in an oxygen controlled silo for 10 days and is ready for feeding.
