Burkholder, Washington Boro, wto first place in the Pennsylvania Non-Irrigated Corn Yield Contest conducted by the National Corn Growers Association, Boone, lowa, with a yield of 159.77 bushels per acre, the association announced recently. First place in the Irrigated Con test in Pennsylvania went to John R. Rodgers, Belleville, with a yield of 110.69 bushels per acre. Contest fields had to be at least 25 acres. Melvin L. This yield broke the previous record of 287.45 bushels per acre held by Loyd Hall of Illinois, set in 1973.
