HORST ************ FFA’ers named Star Farmer Agri - businessman James Shirk Seventeen-year-old Jim Shirk, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Shirk, Lititz R 2, was named Red Rose Star Agribusinessman for 1976 at a contest held last Tuesday night at the Mount Joy Vo- Tech School. He was chosen over numerous other ap plicants from all over the County. A junior at Warwick, Shirk has been employed part-time for three years as a work experience program on the James Myer dairy farm, Lititz R 2. He serves as treasurer, of his FFA chapter, where Gerald Martin heads that depart ment. Runner-up in the contest was Reuben Auker of Ephrata. Shirk, Chester County Agricultural Agent. The award was presented at the Pennsylvania FFA mid winter convention held in Harrisburg. The award is given to those adults who have made significant contributions to the FFA program.
