TOWI Sewage booklet available HARRISBURG - The Department of En vironmental Resources said today a new booklet on alternate methods of on-lot sewage disposal is available through the Cooperative Extension Service of The Pennsylvania State University’s Department of Agriculture. The booklet, which was prepared in cooperation with DER’s Bureau of Com munity Environmental Control, discusses possible uses of the elevated sand mound, sand-lined bed or trench, oversized absorption area or shallow placement absorption area when conventional on-lot sewage disposal systems cannot be used because of soil con ditions. It also contains a soil series list with information on the suitability of the various soil types for on-lot systems.
