Feed Dairy Special 40XX
The key to efficiency in any dairy feeding
program is getting maximum
performance out of homegrown grains
and roughages while keeping out-of
pocket feed costs down. That's why
Vigortone developed Dairy Special 40XX
for use in legume hay or haylage rations.
This potent pre-mix contains abundant
phosphorus to balance off the high
calcium content of these roughages and
provides proper levels of other major
minerals, trace minerals and vitamins.
Legume programs are well balanced
with Dairy Special 40XX, and the need
for supplemental protein is much less.
Best of all, your cows soon respond to
their full bred-in potential to produce
milk.

York 4-Her crowing
over poultry awards
Roy Thompson, a member
of the Thonuuville 4-H club
in York Co., has something
to “crow” about. Capons
aren’t supposed to crow, but
Roy has captured the grand
champion award for his
capon project twice in one
year. In November, Mr.
Robert Woodward judged
the York Co. 4-H capon
round-up and gave Roy’s
dressed capon a first place
ribbon. Roy took another
dressed capon to the Pa.
Farm Show in January and
there it was judged the best
dressed capon in the class
again.
Roy, the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Rodman C. Thompson,
East Berlin, has been a 4-H
member for five years.
Joining 4-H when he was
eight, he took over the capon
project from his sister
Shirely, who had won the
National Poultry award in
1972; so he was no new
comer in the poultry field.
He has been a consistent
winner of the first and
second placed dressed capon
at every 4-H round-up since
he has taken the project.
A member of the seventh
grade class at the in
termediate school in Spring
Grove, Roy carries other 4-H
