He urged the council’s committee to continue to press for a new, practical complex. This dovetailed with a council resolution to obtain funding for a new exposition center. Some other council resolutions that received Kerstetter’s backing were: -The $400,000 maximum in annual harness racing revenues for agricultural research be changed to the specific amount available under a percentage formula. -An increase in agricultural research funds provided by the legislature. -The establishment of a mastitis culturing program and facilities. under the department’s Bureau of Animal Industry that are available to all facers. -The allocation of ad ditional funds to permit adequate indemnities on diseased animals; the reinstatement of the statewide calf vaccination program. Support of the concept that no assessment for sewage lines be levied until land use is changes from its agricultural designation. Encourage education in waste management. ■Support an appropriate state allocation to develop conservation plans needed to implement the Clean Streams Act. -Support. a study and review of current trespass laws. -Support research to reduce dust created by fanning.
