Farmer Degree during the
mid-Winter FFA convention
held In Harrisburg recently.
Those recognized for their
achievements as Future
Farmers of America were:
The son of Mr. and Mrs.
Lester Reese, Brodbecks,
David has been chapter
chaplain, treasurer, vice
president and president. His
activities included livestock
and dairy judging, two years
on the parliamentary
procedures team, and
showing swine at the York
Fair.
A member of the National
Honor Society, David is
thinking of combining far
ming with a “side job for
more and better income.”
In addition to receiving the
Keystone Degree, Slusser is

Peter Is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Peter Slusser, Sr., of
Hanover R 3. An active
member of the South
Western FFA chapter, he
has served as secretary and
sentinel and is presently the
chapter’s vice-president. His
activities included livestock
and dairy cattle judging, the
parliamentary procedures
team, and small grain and
vegetable exhibits at the
York Fair.
With beef, swine, poultry,
and gardening as projects,
the 17-year-old youth intends
to go into a farming career.
ALAN STERNER
The son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Sterner, Hanover,
Sterner received the
Keystone Degree on the
merits of his work with a
vegetable garden and work
within agri-business. He was
also awarded second place in
the State Proficiency Award
in Agriculture Sales and
Service Contest. He has
served his FFA chapter as
president and vice
president.

Myers, 17, Is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Myers,
Hanover R 2. He has par
ticipated in numerous
chapter activities and has
served as sentinel, secretary
and treasurer. In addition,
he has been active ui dairy |
livestock, and land judging;
and in parliamentary
procedures.
Citing agri-business as his
main concern, Myers has
also found time and effort for
swine breeding and veal calf
raising. An exhibitor at the
York Fair, he plans to stay
active in agribusiness and to
continue to help on his
father’s beef farm.
CLAUDE WARNER
Working in agri-business
and preparing for a career infi
that field, Warner has been
an active member of his
FFA chapter and has par
ticipated in a number of FFA
shows, plus the York Fair.
The 17-year-old son of Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Warner,
Lineboro, Md., Warner was
his club’s secretary for two
