The Junior Champion of
the Holstein Show was
Great-View Select Little
Neg, shown by Mike Miller of
Llnglestown. The same
animal was first-place senior
yearling heifer. Mike is the
son of Mr. and Mrs Paul E
Miller.
In the 3-4 year old dry cow
class, Arthur Moore of
Mercer placed first; Gor-
Wood-D Acres of Mansfield
placed seventh. In the youth
division of that class, Susan
Seidel of Kerchenhill
Holsteins, Richland, camp
up with the number one
animal.
In aged dry cow com
petition, Linda Kauffman’s
cow placed fourth in the open
class, and second in the
youth category. Two to three
year old cows saw
Providence Haven Holsteins
of Carlisle place fourth,
followed by Curtis Martin.
Jeff Miller, brother of Mike,
was fourth in the youth
division of that class.
Paul E. Miller showed his
three-year-old “Great-View
Apollo Beautiful” to a fifth
place in 3-4 year-old open
class. In the 4-5 year-old
class, Providence Haven
was fourth. They also had
the fourth place cow in the
aged cow class, where
another Miller entry, shown
by Debra, placed seventh.
She showed the same animal
to third-place honors in the
youth category. Linda
Kauffman placed fifth in that
event.
In the open get of sire
competition, Penn Springs of
Elizabethtown was first;
followed in order by: Paul
King, Delta; Huntsdale
Stock Farm, Carlisle; and
BuppLynn Farm of Seven
Valleys.
The top dairy herd of the
show was one shown by Penn
Springs. Receiving the nod
for runner-up was Kingway
Holsteins, owned by Paid
and Kathy King of Delta.
Huntsdale was third, and
Gor-Wood-D Acres was
fourth.
Lancaster County put
together the best county herd
in the youth division, with
second place going to York
County. In the open class it
was Cumberland County in
first place, followed in order
by Lancaster County, Adams
County, and York County.
