Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, confectioners sugar, egg and flavoring. Blend in flour ami salt. Divide dough in half, blend coloring in half. Shape 1 teaspoon dough from each half into 4 inch rope. Place rope side by side. Press together lightly and twist. Curve top to form handle. Bake about 9 minutes until set and very light brown.
