PARTY MIX
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 cups Corn Chex cereal (bite-size crispy corn squares)
2 cups Rice Chex cereal (bite-size crispy rice squares)
2 cups Wheat Chex cereal (bite-size crispy wheat squares)
3/4 cup salted nuts
Melt butter in shallow pan over low heat. Stir in sea
soned salt and Worcestershire sauce. Add Chex and nuts
Mix until all pieces are coated. Heat in 250° oven 45 min
utes Stir every 15 minutes. Spread out on absorbent paper
to cool.
To vary, substitute the teaspoon of seasoned salt with
3/8 teaspoon onion or garlic powder and 3/8 teaspoon salt.
Makes 6 3/4 cups
Some tennis buffs keep their gut-strung tennis rackets in
good shape by conditioning strings with a light film of
petroleum jelly before storing.

of milk testing 3.7 percent

Arlinda Chief, EX-91-GM,
“Ellen” started her history
making record on November
22,1974, with the birth of twin
calves. She was five years,
nine months of age.
First tested on December
28, she gave 169 pounds of 4.1
percent milk. She was tested
again January 30, recording
her peak of 195.5 pounds of
milk. Subsequent tests
ranged from 193 pounds to
125.4 pounds recorded on her
305th day of production. At
this time she took the top
spot for 305 day records with
50,314 pounds of milk and
was only 445 pounds under
the 365 day record held by a
Pennsylvania cow.

percent milk and 657 pounds
of fat. She followed with a 330
day record of 27,760 pounds
of milk and 1,035 pounds of
butterfat at three years, five
months of age. At four years
six months of age her 365 day
record of 38,010 pounds of 3.7
percent milk, and 1,393
pounds of fat made her the
national leader for milk and
fat.
As noted earlier, Ellen is
sired by Pawnee Farm
Arlinda Chief 1427381 who
has a Predicted Difference
for milk of plus 1,463 and for
fat of plus 63 with a 99 per
cent repeatability. Her dam,
