Lamb exhibitions in the same show and sale from Schuylkill County were Anne and David Kantnar of Rl Pottsville. These six individuals are Schuylkill County 4-H members and have raised and exhibited their animals in the 4-H educational program. James Dunn’s 950 pound steer was selected as Reserve Champion Light Weight Steer of the show and Schuylkill County Champion Steer. This steer was purchased by DeTonl meats of Schnecksville for 62 cents per pound. David Troxell exhibited an Angus steer which placed third in the Light Weight • Class 1 Division. Steven Dunn placed second in the Light Weight - Class 3 Division and Diane Troxell, placed fourth in the Light Weight - Class 3 Division. In the lamb show, Anne Kantner, Rl Pottsville placed third in the light weight class and David Kantner placed fourth in the light weight class. In the fitting and showmanship competition, Anne Kantner placed third and David Kantner placed fifth. There were a toal of 45 steers in the show and sale weighing a total of 47,000 pounds with a total sale value of $32,558.52. The average price per pound of the steers, not including the champion, was 67.04 cents per pound. The total weight of the lambs sold in the sale was 3,795 pounds with total sales of $3,195.23. The average price per pound for the lambs without the champion was 83.20 cents per pound.
