Hie show and sale wu originated on Dec. B,IMI, by four agricultural leaders from Hatfield, Pa. At that time the show and sale wu held at the Hatfield Fair Grounds where Bucks and Montgomery County boys and girls offered 29 animals for sale. Id Dec. Since 1944, Bucks, Mon tgomery and Lehigh Counties have continued the event with the addition of Schuylkill County and the readmission of Northampton County. The show and sale has been held at the Allentown Fair grounds since 1969. This year’s event attracted 58 beef exhibitors and 20 lamb exhibitors from the four counties. There were six classes in the Beef competition, with judging done by Dr. Erskine Cash, Professor of Animal Science at Penn State University. Poultry production declines HARRISBURGH - Penn sylvania poultry production for the week ending November 15, decreased 24 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the same period last year, ac cording to the Crop Reporting Service. Placements of broiler chicks in the commonwealth were 971,000. Average placements during the past 10 weeks were eight percent above a year earlier. In the 21 key poultry producing states placements were 57,066,000. This represents an Increase of eight percent .above last week and 10 percent above the same week a year ago.
