The 29 participants in the Distinguished Junior Member contest have all filled out project summaries and activities records on their 4-H work and other interests. The seven finalists in the Senior Division were guests of the Pa. Holstein AssocisUon for the P.S.U. - N.C. State football game and a weekend of fun. The finalists were slso in terviewed to determine the winners. The winners and runnersup were honored today at the Association’s Convention Banquet. The top boy and girl in the Senior Division will be able to compete in the National DJM Contest in the spring. Winners are listed below in the Senior and Junior Division. Miss Eileen Baity of Covington, Pa. and Richard Krall of Lebanon, Pa. were named the 1975 Distinguished Junior Members of the Pa. Holstein Association. Eileen and Richard will take over for Susan Seidel, Richland, Pa. and Wayne Howes, Newtown, Pa. the 1974 winners. 2g^COOKING THE SOUP SOLUTION If you’re ever in the soup for lack of scWnething to serve surprise visitors, here’s a re cipe that’s full of beans and can really help you scotch that problem. BEAN AND BACON SOUP 8 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled 4 cans (11-1/2 ounces) condensed bean and bacon soup cooked according to directions 1/2 cup Scotch or blended whiskey 1/4 cup cider vinegar 6 tablespoons maple syrup 1/4 cup ketchup 1 12 teaspoon onion salt 4-8 lemon slices Combine bacon, soup, 1/4 cup of Scotch or blended whiskey and remaining in gredients, except lemon sli ces. Bring to boil, stirring well to combine. Garnish with lemon slices. Warm reserved 1/4 cup Scotch in ladle or small saucepan. Ignite and pour over soup. Makes about 8 servings.
