This brings the total of Super ROM Sires to 44 since the system was inaugurated and the first bull attained that position in 1969. Super ROM listing is a means by which outstanding sires are evaluated through a combination of show points gathered m ROM Shows, and feedlot and carcass points gathered in the feedlot & carcass phase of the AHA’s Total Performance Records Program. A sire must attain at least 100 points m each phase to reach the Super Sire status. National sewing winner learned her skill By Pat Bradley Berks Co. Correspondent FLEETWOOD - Mary Schuler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schuler, Fleetwood R 3, has been chosen National winner in the Grange Sewing Contest. Mary, a senior at Fleet wood High and member of the National Honor Society, has entered the contest for the past three or four years, but this is the first time she has won the National title Her sewing project for this year’s competition was a three piece outfit consisting of a blouse, slacks and a skirt A member of the Fleet wood 4-H for nine years, Mary says that’s where she really learned to sew. “During the summer the 4-H sets up sewing workshops where the older girls teach the younger ones to sew,” she remarked. Mary’s other activities include county winner for her clothing project, regional 4-H awards for sewing, participation in the 4-H dress review, president of the 4-H county council and 3 VI participation in the 4-H Fair at the Kutztown Fair Grounds this past summer. She is a member of the Fleetwood Grange where she is the Youth Chairman. Mary also participated in the State Grange Drill Team competition held recently in [.ancaster. The youth is co-editor of the Fleetwood High year book, a reporter for the Mary Schuler, a Fleetwood Grange member, models one of her award winning outfits chosen as outstanding at the National Grange Sewing con test.
