The Holiday season will
soon be with us and now is
the time to plan just what
goodies will be used for your
entertaining and family
menues. We've offered a few
suggestions this week and
hope you’ll enjoy trying
them. The recipes are the
courtsey of the Pork In
dustry Committee.

Holiday Banana
Tea Bread
13/il 3 /i cups sifted enriched flour
2 teaspoons baking podwer
v« teaspoon baking soda
4 teaspoon salt
one-third cup lard
two-third cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
h cup chopped nuts
1 cup mixed candied fruit
l 4 cup raisins
Line a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf
pan with waxed paper. Sift
together flour, baking
powder, soda and salt.
Cream lard and sugar until
light and fluffy, add eggs and
beat well. Add sifted
ingredients alternately with
bananas. Add remaining
ingredients. Pour into loaf
pan and let stand 20 minutes.
Bake in a moderate oven 350
degrees for one hour or until
done.

1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
20 marshmallows
Vz cup milk
6 almond milk chocolate
bars
1 pint whipping cream

Pecan Topping:
2 tablespoons butter
l 4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon grated orange
rind
% cup pecan halves
Mix butter with brown
sugar, orange rind and
pecans.
Pumpkin Filling;
3 tablespoons sugar
teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
teaspoon ginger
Cardinal 5-Inch U-Trough
AUGERS
4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 can (16 ounces) pumpkin
two-third cup brown sugar
2 eggs well beaten
1 cup evaporated milk
4 cup water
Mix together sugar, salt
and spices. Combine pum
pkin, brown sugar, eggs and
spice mixture. Mix
evaporated milk and water
and heat til Just below
boling. Add hot milk, stirring
evenly belended. Pour filling
into unbaked pie shell and
bake at 42S degrees for 40
minutes. Sprinkle topping on
pie and bake for 10 minutes
until pie is glazed

Orange Jewel Cookies
IV4 cups Jellied orange slices
IVi cups sifted enriched flour
Vz teaspoon baking powder
teaspoon baking soda
Vz teaspoon salt
two-third cup shortening
two-third cup brfiwn sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
14 cupa quick cooking oata
1 cup cocoanul
Cut Jellied orange slices
into small pieces. Sift
together flour and dry
ingredients. Cream shor
tening and sugars. Beat in
eggs And vanilla. Stir in
sifted ingredients. Add oats,
coconut and orange pieces.
Shape into balls and place on
greased cookie sheets. Bake
at 375 degrees for 10-12
minutes. Yield 4 dozen.

1 cup coarslcy chopped nuts
Sift together dry
ingredients and spices.
Cream lard and sugar. Add
eggs and beat well. Add
sifted ingredients to
creamed mixture. Add sour
milk and mix thoroughly.
Stir in raisins and fruit with
nuts. Fill small paper lined
