honored during the past five
weeks by national
associations for professional
workers employed by the
Cooperative Extension
Service.
All five of the honorees
have West Virginia or
western Maryland
backgrounds, although two

A new type of all-steel
metal building for farm use
has been introduced by the
Mitchell Engineering
Company of Columbus,
Mississippi, a pioneer in the
metal-building field. The
new building is called
MECO-MASTER, and comes
in a series of sizes that can
be used for farm shops, farm
grain storage, equipment
storage, or warehousing for
feed, seed, fertilizer, hay,
cotton and other agricultural
commodities.
MECO-MASTER buildings
are available in two basic
configurations: 50 feet wide
by 17 feet cave height and 40
feet wide by 15 feet eave
height. The 50 foot wide
building is available in any
length in increments of 20
feet with a 40 foot minimum
length. The 40 foot building is
available in any length in 25
foot increments with a 50 foot
minimum length.
Maximum size sliding
doors are available to ac
commodate the vast
majority of opening
requirements. For example,
the 50 foot by 17 foot eave
height MECO-MASTER
building is available with a
24 foot by 16 foot double
sliding door to meet the
requirements of cotton
pickers (including cab and
air conditioning unit),
combines with the widest
head (including cab and air
conditioning unit, and six
row tillage equipment.
Designed for easy, fast
erection, the basic MECO
MASTER building, includes
all primary and secondary
structural framing, 26 gauge
commercial grade
galvanized roof and wall
panels, galvanized flashing
and trim, base angle, ridge
cap, eave and base closures,
structural bolts and
galvanized panel fasteners.
