Association will be spon
soring a Farm-City weekend
on November 15-16 to which
all interested persons arc
invited.
Twenty-three farm
operations, greenhouses,
mushroom houses, and other
agriculturally related
businesses will be open next
Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. and on Sunday
from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Brochures describing the
activities are available in
schools and businesses of the
area. The purpose of the
Farm-City weekend is to
"build a bridge of un
derstanding with our city
and urban neighbors."
Following is a list of farms
to be seen, and brief
highlights about each;
Amyr Farms, North of
Oxford, - Dr. Richard
Stoneback and family
specialize in purebred
Arabian horses, and a goat
operation complete with box
stalls, stanchions, and
milking parlor.
McFadden Greenhouses,
Wedgewood Rd., south of
Oxford - 65,000 square-feet
growing area under glass
and fiberglass. Flowers,
especially roses, are the
specialty and they’re
marketed throughout the

raised on slats in a fattening
operation with automatic
feeding and watering
systems.

with com the primary crop.
Chick to broiler operation for
70,000 birds raised in a 44 by
460 foot house with en
vironmental control and
continuous light.
