Oatmeal Spice Cookies
Mi cup sugar
Mi cup molasses
3 /« cup shortening
2 eggs
V* cup sweet milk
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon soda
2 cups flour
1 cup raisins
2 cups oatmeal
Mix ingredients in order
given. Drop by teaspoons on
greased cookie sheets. Bake
at 380 degrees.

6 cups coarsly sliced or
chopped apples
Vz cup sugar
% teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Measure apples into a
bowl, mix with % cup sugar,
flour, nutmeg and lemon
juice.
Turn into unbaked pie

sprinkle over the apples.
Slide pic into a brown paper
bag tucking the end under
the pie. Put on a cookie sheet
for easy handling. Bake at
425 degrees for 50 minutes.
Dividends: no scorched rim,
no underbaked apples and no
boiling over in the oven.

Applesauce Gingerbread
one-third cup butter
Vi cup brown sugar
Vi cup molasses
1 egg
IV* cup all purpose flour
Vi teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
Vz teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Vk teaspoon ginger
2 cups sliced apples
% cup sour milk or but
termilk
Cream butter and add
sugar. Beat until fluffy. Add
beaten egg and molasses and
continue to beat until
throughly blended. Sift flour,
measure and add salt, soda
and baking powder. Sift
again. Add dry ingredients
alternately with milk. Beat
throughly after each ad
dition. Cover bottom of
greased pan with sliced ap
plea. Pour batter over apples
and bake at 350 degrees (or
45 minutes.

Macaroni Dried Beef
Casserole
1 cup uncooked macaroni
1 can cream of mushroom
soup
IV* cup milk
1V« pound dried beef or ham
1 cup cheese
3 tablespoons finely chopped
onion
cup frozen peas
Mix together. Pour into
greased casserole. Let stand
over night or several hours
in the refrigerator. Bake at
350 degrees for 1 hour un
covered.

Meat Loaf
3 pounds ground beef
1 cup cracker crumbs
2 eggs
1 cup catsup
Vi cup tomato juice
salt and pepper to taste
Mix well and form into a
loaf or roll. Put a few bacon
slices chi top. Pour tomato
juice on top. Bake at 375
degrees for 2 hours.

Grassland Environmental
Chapter will soon be taking
orders for their annual citrus
fruit sale. The youths will be
selling Navel oranges, pink
grapefruit and tangelos.
Prices range from $6.00 to
$6.50 per carton and from
$.75 to $1.85 per dozen.
Orders must be received
by Nov. 3. The fruit will be
trucked direct from Florida
in early December and
ready for distribution for
before the Christmas season.
Orders may be given by
contacting members of the
FFA or by calling the ad
visor - Cheryl Rousseau at
354-4031.
