Holstein Club, was also cited
for her placings at several
dairy Judging contests. The
York County dairy Judging
team, of which she is a
member, placed first last
summer in state 4-H com*
petition. Last month the
team placed fourth out of 15
state teams which competed
in Virginia. Miss Knight
placed fifth individually
overall and first in oral
reasons. A 1 a subsequent
show in New England, the
same team placed fourth out
of 12; Miss Knight placed
fourth individually.

Junior members who did
well in the show ring this
past summer were also
recognized. Included in this
group were: Paul Knight,
Cindy Knight, Abbe Johnson,
Annette Walter, Deanna
Feeser, Glenn Crowl, Tim
Eisenhart, Leon Crowl, and
Gary Crowl.
Members of the club were
notified that the Holstein
Association’s annual
national meeting will be
hosted by Maryland, Penn
sylvania and Delaware this
year and the scheduled dated
are March 28-31. The state
association’s convention is to
be held in Gettysburg later
this month.
In the' business meeting,
Herman Stebbins, Frank
Feeser, and Mike Stewart
were elected to serve as
directors. State director
Paul King told the group that
membership dues should be
paid before the end of the
year if the local county
association is to receive
$1.50 for each renewal
membership which meets
this deadline. After January
1 the county clubs will not
receive a “kick-back.”

Mrs. Nadine Waite from Bellefonte entertained
Grangers at Wednesday's youth banquet with her
dummy “Dexter.’’ The pair performed a comedy
routine which kept the audience laughing for most
of the show.
Main dish casseroles
4M> oz. frozen mushrooms
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon instant minced onion
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup evaporated milk
z teaspoon bottled gravey seasoning
y* cup dry sauteme wine
Thaw mushrooms. Melt butter in a small saucepan over
low heat. Add mushrooms and onion; cook until lightly
browned. Sprinkle flour evenly over the browned
mushrooms, stirring to blend smoothly. Slowly stir in
evaporated milk, and gravy seasoning, keeping sauce
smooth. Cook and stir over low heat until thickened. Stir in
wine and serve immediately with Rock Cornish Game-
Hens.
Makes approximately 2 cups sauce.
