The new, separate publication comes as a response on the part of Meister Publishing Com pany, publisher of five specialized agricultural magazines and two ether annual publications, to the marked increase in her bicide use in recent years and the added complexity of regulations regarding herbicide application. USDA figures in the 1974 Handbook of Agricultural Charts, for instance, document that herbicide use more than doubled between the period of 1964 and 1971. “Agricultural consultants and growers are anxious to begin planning weed control programs earlier in the year. Our new December publication date will now make this possible. This 1976 edition, listing over 200 herbicides, will have four color illustrations of the most common weeds to facilitate weed identification and a new, heavy-duty cover to withstand the frequent use the volume will receive,” Editor Gordon Berg an nounced. The Crop Index section of the volume contains 79 different listings including field com, soybeans, cotton, wheat, grain sorghum, alfalfa, various small grains, rice, fruits, vegetables, and other leading crops - all the way to mug beans and macadamia nuts. The Manual also includes a Weed Index and Herbicide Index as well as a Directory of Manufacturers. Individual copies are avilable at $6 per copy from Agri-fieldman, 37841 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio 44094. Bulk copies are available and discount order prices will be quoted upon request. ✓
