18—Lancaster Farming. Saturday, Oct. 4, 1975 Union ville Community Fair begins Wednesday UNIONVILLE - The 51st annual Unionville Com munity Fair takes place here at the Unionville High School, beginning October 8 and running through until the 11th. Billed as Chester County’s largest display of home and farm products, admission to the four-day fair is free. It is devoted solely to the exhibition of agricultural, domestic, artistic and educational products. It is unique in its philosophy of preprinting an educational display and family community activity, rather than the commercialized amusement type fair, fair officials comment. Through the cooperation of the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District, .the Fair Patrons, community organizations and in dividuals, the fair has grown from a small com show to an exhibition of its present size and scope. Many phases of agricultural, domestic, educational, artistic, creative and community life are represented in the Fair’s varied exhibits, events and activities. Although each year the show increases in size and in the amount of premiums paid, it is still self sup porting. This has been ac complished by profits made on the barbecue supper, from revenue derived from the sale of catalogue ad vertisements and com mercial exhibit space, from ra 7:00 - 9:00 1:30 3.00 5:00 8:00 state reimbursements and county appropriations, and from the contributions of patrons.
