was named state nominee

scholarship.

associate 4-H-youth division

University, who announced
the selection, said that
Nancy’s 4-H records will be
entered in national com
petition with winners to be
announced at National 4-H
Congress in Chicago,
November 30 - December 4.

18. The presentation was
made by PennAg president
Phillip M. Spalding, York
and acknowledged by Dr.
James M. Beattie, Dean of
the College of Agriculture, at
Penn State University.
Income tax
workshop set
Every year more people
seek assistance in income
tax preparation. The Lan
caster County Extension
office is hosting a tax
preparation workshop on
October 21-23 at the Lan
caster Farm and Home
Center. The workshop is
designed for individuals that
wish to improve their ability
to more accurately prepare
their tax returns or to assist
others in preparing returns.
The workshop will include
instructions on both in
dividual reporting and
business. It will include
reporting income, expenses,
depreciation (methods.

The daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John H. Henkel, Nancy
is a student at the Delaware
Valley College of Science
and Agriculture. She has
been a 4-H member for 10
years.
She served her 4-H Club as
president, vice president,
news reporter, secretary,
and treasurer, and assisted
with club activities and
events as a teen leader.
