Carl A. Weber, doing
business as Weber’s Produce
in Lancaster, Pa., has had
his Perishable Agricultural
Commodities Act (PACA)
license suspended August 29
by the U.S. Department of
Agriculture (USDA).
According to the USDA’s
Agricultural Marketing
Service, Weber failed to
satisfy a reparation award of
a Pennsylvania wholesaler
for numerous lots of fruits
and vegetables shipped
during June and July of 1974.
The charges were not an
swered by Weber and USDA
ordered payment of the full
amount.
As a result of the
suspension, Weber, is not
eligible to operate in the
produce business under the
PACA until he satisfies the
award and gams USDA
approval. The firm’s of
ficers, directors, and
stockholders may not be
employed or affiliated with
any license firm without
USDA approval.

wanting to employ someone
who has previously failed to

The PACA establishes a
code of fair business
