met recently at the home of
Mrs. Donald Frey, EUcndale
Drive. The program
featured Mr. Thomas J.
Sheaffer, a representative
from the Consumer
Protection Bureau of Lan
caster County, who spoke on
"How to Handle Consumer
Complaints."
The president, Mrs. John
E. Groff, reported on the
County Board meeting.
$25.00 was voted to be given
to the International 4-H
Youth Exchange. This year's
youth is Faith Stoner,
daughter of Mr. & Mrs.
Raymond Stoner, Eden Rd.
Hostesses included Mrs.
Jacob Herr, Mrs. Merle
LeFevre, and Mrs. Charles
Murray.
Next month members will
meet at the Paradise
Mennonite Church at 1:00 to
go as a group to Am
bassadors for Christ to see
the film, “Queen of the Dark
Chamber." This has been re
scheduled, having been
cancelled previously due to
inclement weather.

Farm Women Society 22
met August 12 at the home of
Mrs. Robert Bare, 815
Waterfront Drive, Lan
caster, Pa. The meeting was
conducted by the president
Mrs. Henry Hess.
Election of new officers
was held: President, Mrs.
Lester Landis, Vice
President, Mrs. Clair Wit
mer; Secretary, Mrs.
Donald Herr; Treasurer,
Mrs. Robert Houser, and
Corres. Secretary, Mrs.
Jacob Houser.
It was decided to assemble
2,000 more “Dinner Bell”
cookbooks in January.
The group will visit and
treat the state hospital in
Harrisburg on Oct. 21.
Five girls are making
dresses for the Bi-Centennial
contest.

Society of Farm Women 23
met recently at the home of
Bcrneda Greider, Miller
sville Rl. The President Mrs.
called the meeting to order.
Pauline Shenk led the
devotional period, reading
Pas. 27.
Reports were given on the
sales where we had the food
stand, including the Antique
Sale at the Farm and Home
Center on May 9, 10 and 11,
and Ferry Rohrer Sale on
June 6, the William Aithouse
Est. sale on June 7 and the
Lancaster County Soil
Conservation Field Day at
the Howard Long Farm
on July 22.
The Sunshine Committee
reported $200.00 was given to
the Robert Weiss family to
help with the expenses of the
late Mr. W. Weiss. Also
$144.00 was given to
Christian Childrens fund to
support a Korean orphan.
Our speaker Romaine
Engle was vacationing so the
program by the State Police
was cancelled. Following
games, refreshments were
served by our hostess.
Thomasville
4-H dub
The Thomasville 4-H
Community Club held their
monthly meeting at the
picnic area of Mr. and Mrs.
Harris Horn. Four-H
members from Montgomery
County who were being
hosted by the local Club
presented a program of T-V
take-offs.
Delegates for the County
Council Convention are
Nancy and Tim Eisenhart,
Paul Myers, Bonnie Wire,
Tom, Joey, and Gary Welsh,
Allen Keeney, Jack Parr and
Jonathan Myers.
The annual plant and food
sale was the program for the
day.
the next meeting will be a
tour of Goodwill Industries.
