    Ann Baroni was the top
blue ribbon winner in the 4-H
Sheep Club Roundup for
Chester and Delaware
Counties, held at the Goshen
Fair Grounds. Ms. Baroni,
who lives in Downingtown,
won blue ribbons in the
blocking contest, senior
showmanship, senior fitting,
Hampshire ram iamb,
Hampshire aged ewe,
Hampshire yearling ewe,
Dorset aged ewe, Dorset
yearling ewe and Dorset ewe
lamb. Thirty-seven
youngsters from four 4-H
sheep clubs in the two county
area were entered in the
competition.

The event was planned and
carried out by a committee
of teenleadcrs from the
various sheep clubs. Co
chairmen were Susan
Hastings from the Delaware
County 4-H Sheep
Joan Liesau from the Tri-
Community Club of Chester
County. The Judge was
David Greene, extension
livestock specialist, from
Carroll County, Maryland.
Winners of championship
rosettes were Joan Liesau
for senior showmanship,
senior fitting, and Hamp
shire ram; Cindy Gilbert for
Ist year showmanship and
fitting; Jeff Baroni for

Shropshire classes Gary
Barrett won the cham
pionship with his yearling
ram and Chris Ambler was
champion with her yearling
ewe. Starr Hamilton had the
highest placing commercial
ewe.
Reserve championships
were won by Susan Hastings
for senior showmanship,
Karen Blumenthal for senior
fitting, Ernest Barrett for Ist
year showmanship, Lisa
Delay for Ist year fitting,
Daryl Schafer for junior
showmanship and Jeff
Baroni for junior fitting. In
the breed classes Ray Taylor
took the reserve cham
pionship for his Suffolk ram,
Leigh Martin for her Suffolk
ewe, Daryl Schafer for his
Hampshire ram and Joan
Liesau for her Hampshire
ewe. In the Dorset classes
Jeff Baroni won reserve
championship in both the
ram and ewe classes, while
Eddie Connell won reserve
championship with his
Shropshire ram and Chris
Ambler for her Shropshire
yearling ewe.
