Beaver Valley Pike, Lancaster, completed the highest 290
day lactation. Carmela produced 23,113 lbs. of milk, 988
lbs. of butterfat with a 4.3 percent test. Second high lac
tation was completed by a registered Holstein owned by J.
Z. Noll, Rl, Leola. Abbie produced 28,414 lbs. of milk, 895
lbs. of butterfat with a 3.1 percent test in 305 days.
The herd of J. Rohrer Witmer, R 2, Willow Street, had
the highest daily butterfat average. This herd of 7
registered & grade Holstein cows averaged 55.9 lbs. of
mUk, 2.04 lbs. of butterfat with a 3.6 percent test. The herd
of Paul S. Homing, Rl, Stevens, placed second. This herd
of 40 registered & grade Holstein cows averaged 52.5 lbs.
of milk, 2.00 lbs. of butterfat with a 3.8 percent test.
