Willie Ed started off the night not too promising in the Bareback Riding. Ho came right back in the Saddle Bronc to place second, marking a 53 and collecting $77.91. Next event was Steer Wrestling, and Willie Ed, not being a regular dogger at Cowtown says, “I was Just lucky," picking up first place to the tune of $221.48 with a quick time of 5.7 seconds. Next event was bull riding and Willie Ed rode his bull marking a 67, picking up second money of $195.51. This made Willie Ed Walker top money winner at Cowtown, winning $494.90. Marty Sticn of Washington, PA was first in Lancaster Firming. Saturday, August 23.1975—48 the Bareback Riding marking 63 and winning $127.40. R. L. Tolbert of Miraloma, California, presently working at Great Adventure marked a 77 on his Saddle Bronc picking up first place of $103.88. Jim Mean whose home town is Allcne, Arkansas and serving in the armed forces won the Bull Riding marking a 70 and collecting $280.68. Joe Merola of Pennsgrove won first in the calf roping tying his calf in 12.8, getting $221.48. Dale Bibbo of Spring Valley, NY won the Girls Barrel Race in a short 18.02 seconds winning $172.48. All told 109 head of stock was competed on with a total purse paid of $2768.50. The weather not being ideal for outdoor sports there were over 1600 brave people watching Cowtown Rodeo Saturday evening.
