    4-Hers end season
with achievement day
Lancaster County 4*H
members ended their season
of work by displaying their
projects at the annual
Achievement Day held
Thursday at the Farm and
Home Center.
Nearly 30 youngsters were
awarded ribbons and prizes
(or their handiwork which
ranged from the craft of
macrame to skillfully
crafted bookcases.
During the evening
program, which saw the
Farm and Home Center’s
auditorium filled with 4-
Hers, leaders and parents, a
talent competition was
presented with Miss
Maureen Hough, Peach
Bottom, winning top honors.
Patsy Mengle, 18,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Lewis Mengle, New Holland
Pike, was crowned as the
new senior 4-H Queen. The
young lady was representing
the Garden Spot Community
4-H Club.
Selected as the junior 4-H
Queen was Kim Weaver,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Jason Weaver, Quarryville.
