Conservation day
slated for July 22
“ The Lancaster County
Conservation District and
Agricultural Extension
Services Annual Field Day
will be held at the farm of
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Long,
R 2, Columbia, on Tuesday,
July 22nd, rain date July
24th.
To find the Long Farm,
follow Route 30 West and get
off at the Prospect Road
Exit, go left unto you come to
Route 462, turn right and go
to Musser’s Dairy and turn
left, follow Plowing Contest
signs.
The activities planned for
the day are: 10:00 a.m. -
Plowing Contest with Max
Smith as Chairman; 10:30
a.m. - Land Judging Contest
for FFA Boys - Gus Birchler
as Chairman; 12:00 Noon -
Lunch served by local
group; 1:00 p.m. - 4-H
Tractor Driving Contest with
Jay Irwin as Chairman; 2:00
p.m. - Awards followed by
Greased Pig and Rooster
Chase.
