ties in the Girl’s Barrel Race
at the Cowtown Rodeo
Saturday night. Barbara
Stevenson and Judy Clement
split second and third money
at 18.29 seconds. Dale Bibbo
and Lee Natale split fourth
at 18.38 seconds. Diane
Sleeter of Laurel Springs,
N.J. was still in first place
however completing the race
in 18.10 seconds for $104.12.
Two Salem Countains won
first in the Calf Roping and
Steer Wrestling events. Joe
Merola of Penns Grove, N.J.
made $197.96 for roping and
tieing his calf in 14.1 seconds.
Sherman Shidner of Sharp
town, N. J. threw his steer in
5.7 seconds for $205.80.

Cowtown rodeo results
Cowtown is getting back into
the lead and won $174.44
Saturday with a mark of 64.
Marth Stein and Andy
Harris are in rough com-
petition for top place for'the
seasons standings for Brah
ma Bull riding and split first
with a mark of 64 for $214.38.
Saddle Bronc Riding was
won by Grant Harris who
immediately picked up the
bucking rhythm of the horse
as he left the shute and for a
high mark of 66 made
$103.88.
More than 3,000 persons
took advantage of the
beautiful weather to attend
the rodeo and 107 contestants
payed $20.00 each to Join in
the rough competition for the
$2,732.20. purse.

The Penn Manor 4-H
Community Club started it’s
fourth meeting with a soft
ball game until all 39
members were present Carl
Thomas the club president,
was in charge of the meeting
held at Clayton Charles’
home.
Carl Thomas gave a talk
on bicycle saftey. Linda
Frantz gave a demonstration
on how to give a demon
stration. She also gave a
slide presentation on ac
tivities for 4-Hers.
The 4-H cooking club
prepared a treat for after the
meeting.
The next meeting will be
held at Bob Hess’ on July 29
at 7:30 p.m.
