Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, at the Annual Chicken Cooking Contest. The contest was held Saturday, May 17, at the Lebanon Area High School in the home economics department. Miss Bove’s winning dish, “Gran-01-Chicken Bake”, captured first place among ten contestants. The contest is sponsored annually by the Pennsylvania Poultry Federation to select a state contestant f<)f the National Chicken Costing Contest. Miss Bove’s prize winning recipe is as follows: Gran-01-Chicken Bake 3 whole boned broiler-fryer breasts, halved 1 teaspoon Ac’cent flavor enhancer 1 teaspoon salt Vi teaspoon pepper Vt cup flour Trademarks American Cyanarrud Company 2 tablespoons melted butter Rub flavor enhancer into chicken. Sprinkle with salt and pepper; coat with flour. Heat corn oil in fry pan over medium heat. Add chicken and brown on all sides. Place chicken in single layer skin side up in large shallow baking pan. Spread with sour cream; sprinkle with raisins. Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes in 350 degree oven. Uncover; sprinkle with cereal. Sprinkle melted butter over cereal.
