Manheim Chain Calf To Balmer Dale Balmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Balmer Manheim R 2, was recently presented with the Manheim FFA chain calf. The calf, Button Lane Stly Sadie, was purchased from Earl Landis, Manheim R 7. Robert E. Cinder, an area diary far mer purchased the calf for the chapter. Selecting the calf were Frank Greenly, chairman and Ruby Cinder, both of the chain calf committee. Dale is presently a fresh man enrolled in vocational agriculture at Manheim Central and was selected from a number of applicants in the freshman and sophomore classes to receive the animal. Dale will be showing the calf at area shows and fairs throughout the year. The calf will be replaced with a first calf heifer from the cow at a later date providing another animal for future use.
