1045 lbs. of fat and 21,648 lbs. milk was produced in 305 days by Bertie, a registered
holstein owned by Sinking Spring Farm to top the month production list. Ivy, another
registered holstcln owned by David Stewart, Delta Rl, was second with 21,534 lbs. milk and
969 lbs. fat. The high herd for January was on 67.3 cows owned by Sinking Spring Farm,
York R 5, with 52.8 lbs. milk and 2.23 lbs. B.F. daily. The next high herd was that of David
Stewart, Delta Rl, on 56.3 cows producing 49.9 lbs. of milk and 2.02 lbs. of B.F. daily.
Officers of the York County DHIA were elected by the directors at a short meeting at
Dairy Day. Leroy Bupp, Seven Valleys R 2, was elected President; Robert Smyser, York Rl,
was elected Vice President and Charles Rauhauser, Admire Rd., Dover succedes himself as
Secretary. Alma Stambaugh serves as the association’s treasurer. The Directors are
George Rohrbaugh, New Freedom Rl, Leo Rutter, Lightner Rd., York; George Knight,
AirviUe R 2, Lynn Wolf, Abbottsotwn Rl, Joseph Hushon, Delta Rl, and Robert May New
Freedom Rl, as well as the three officers.
