Terms bv: John J. Rutt Nice Food Stand Young Consultant Committee, an honor group of 21 to 35-year old members of Inter-State Milk Producers’ Cooperative. Charles H. Eohrer, Paradise, Pa., was elected vice chairman and Robert E. Smith, York Springs, Pa., was elected secretary. The young dairymen agreed to pursue a program to upgrade the nutritional value of school lunch and child nutrition programs on local levels at the annual young cooperator meeting in Lancaster. Lester C. Jones, president of Inter-State, told the young cooperators and their wives that membership un derstanding is one of the biggest problems among cooperatives. “And this understanding is just what your young cooperator program is accomplishing,” Jones said. Jones also noted that of major concern is a 10 per cent decline last year of national Class I milk sales. He noted, however, that in Federal Order 4, which in cludes the Middle Atlantic States, only a 5 percent decline resulted. This, he said, is primarily a result of promotion and advertising funded by a 5 cent assessment of dairy farmers for every 100 pounds of milk they sell. George R. Brumbaugh, chairman of the Membership Relations Committee of Inter-State’s Board of Directors, stressed the importance of members’ involvement in their cooperative.
