project (where the student
works for someone in order
to gain skills needed for the
career he wishes to enter) or
a production project (where
the student raises a crop or
animal). Requiring the
student to keep a project is
merely a way of sup
plementing his in • school
instruction or in other
school. The student must
keep records of his project -
whether it is a job or an
animal or crop. Not only
does the student utilize his
“book learning” and develop
new skills, but he also learns
how to keep records, which is
a necessity for every
American in this day of state
and national income taxes.
Each January students
summarize their record
books in preparation for
county and state contests.
Additionally, crop and
animal projects are
analyzed to tell the student
where and how he can im
prove his project.
