A Registered Holstein cow owned by John P. Lapp. R.l,
Led*, completed the highest 305 day lactation. Cookie
produced 26,231 lbs. of milk, 1,102 lbs. of butterfat with a 4.2
percent test. Second high lactation was completed by a
Registered Holstein Cow owned by Thomas C. Lapp, R. 2, Box
396, Gap. Banostine produced 23,620 lbs. of milk, 1,018 lbs. of
butterfat with a 4.3 percent test in 305 days.
The herd of Jay L. Ranck, R. 2, Quarryville, has the highest
daily butterfat average. This herd of 22.1 Registered Holstein
cows averaged 57.8 lbs. of milk, 2.22 lbs. of butterfat with a
3.8 percent test. Hie herd of Curtis E. Akers, R.l,
Quarryville, placed second. This herd of 56.2 Registered &
Grade Holstein cows averaged 93.4 lbs. of milk, 2.15 lbs. of
butterfat with a 4.1 percent test.
