22—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, Feb. 22, 1975 Atlantic Breeders Honor Dairymen Southern Lancaster area dairymen were honored for having high producing herds this past year at the eleventh annual District 5 Meeting for Atlantic Breeders Cooperative members held February 13 at United Methodist Church, Quarryville. Receiving Certificates of Merit for having top Dairy Herd Improvement Association averages were Ellis D, Krieder, Quarryville, Lloyd H. Ranck, Paradise Rl, J. Ray Ranck, Paradise Rl, Henry B. Lcaman, Lancaster, Aaron E. Beiler, Paradise Rl, Vernon R. Umble, Christiana, Paul V. Nissley, Holtwood, J. Mowrey Frey Jr., Lancaster. All herds were at least 15 per cent above the state average for butterfat last year, while at least two-thirds of the cows in these herds are progeny of Atlantic sires. The awards were presented by Willis Ritchey, Atlantic’s Field Supervisor for this area. Reports by District 5 Director James Krieder of Quarryville, Pa., and management representative David Yoder, General Mgr., informed members that Atlantic completed several significant points of development during the year.
