“Sold!”
Buyers came from all over again this year, and they
spent some $1.3 million for farm equipment of every
description at Wenger's Farm Machinery, Inc.'s,
annual sale held Tuesday and Wednesday. Carl
Wenger, a partner in the firm, said the first day’s sales
this year were just about the same as the two-day
figure for 1974. when the gross was just under $l
million.

"The market wasn't quite as high this year,”

lot more of the buyers were local, in a five or six state
area. We had excellent support from local dealers and
farmers."

Tuesday as they faced a packed audience of tractor
buyers.
and the Southwest, Wenger noted, but not nearly as
many as there were last year when the used equip
ment market was about as tight as it's ever been In
addition to the big interest in small tractors, Wenger
said combines and other farm machinery sold very
well, and this year’s industrial equipment volume was
double the 74 mark.
The high price paid this year was $27,000 for a
brand new John Deere 4630
In all, some 1100 people registered to buy over the'
two-day auction, and Wenger figures that there were
easily 5000 people there buying and looking.
